Summer Camps in DC Still Running End of August
As a DC parent, you know the feeling: the school year calendar winds down, summer camps fill up, and suddenly you're looking at that last week of summer, August 18th (and maybe even August 25th), wondering, "What are we going to do with the kids?"
Fear not! While many camps wrap up in mid-August, there are still a number of good options to keep your kiddos engaged, learning, and having a blast right up until school starts.
Here's a rundown of some exciting camps still offering sessions in the last weeks of Summer 2025 in DC, ensuring your summer goes out with a bang!
Unleashing Their Inner Artist or Athlete
For creatively inclined kids, All Fired Up Camp is hosting a special "Teen Week" for ages 12-16. Campers explore clay, watercolors, and acrylics, with potential trips to the zoo and library—a perfect blend of artistic expression and urban adventure.
For inquisitive minds, DC Way's Art & Soccer Summer Camp provides a unique "Art-Soccer Olympics" theme for ages 4-12, combining creative expression with athletic fun at locations like Hill Center.
If your child is a soccer fanatic, the Nike Soccer Camp with FourSoccer at Horace Mann Elementary School offers a co-ed session for ages 5-16. If you're looking for a more general active experience, ActivePlay LLC Summer Camp at Westmoreland Hills Park (Bethesda) runs through August 18th, offering dodgeball, kickball, hockey, soccer, and arts and crafts. They also have a dedicated Summer Art Camp if that’s more your kiddo’s thing.
For budding adventurers and nature lovers, Merry Pin DC offers a "Nature Explorers" theme for ages 4-8, complete with arts and crafts, storytime, and plenty of outdoor play. Please note: This session tends to fills quickly, so check for waitlist availability!

Does your child dream of being a rock star? School of Rock Washington DC (in Cleveland Park) offers a "Rookies Camp" for ages 5 to 7, introducing them to various rock instruments and music appreciation. This camp tends to sell out fast, so be sure to get on that waiting list!
Looking to discover, build, take things apart? Capitol City STEM has a robotics camp the week of August 18th. It’s an immersive experience for young innovators to design, build, and program cutting-edge robots. This session does tend to fill fast - join the waitlist if so!
If your child loves a challenge and wants to conquer heights, Bouldering Project - Summer Adventures offers a unique camp experience focused on climbing, team-building, and STEAM activities. While the August 18-22 week is currently sold out, they do have availability the following week (August 25-29), which might buy you a few more days before school starts.
